DEVELOPMENT STATUS
Status first: this is an R&D preview, not a commercial product page
PEK-S is completing R&D validation and has not been commercially launched. This page presents the development direction, test-stage observations, and interpretation boundaries so customers with relevant duties can begin technical exchange.
Test-stage evidence is still being consolidated and the product definition has not been frozen.
No commercial model or finalized product specification is available at this stage.
Submit high-temperature, strong-acid or strong-alkali, or intensive-backwash duties for technical discussion.
Current boundary: This page is not a commercial offer, project guarantee, or formal product specification. Current project selection remains based on mature PVDF and PEK products.
WHY PEK-S
Developed for duties where conventional tubular membrane windows may be constrained
PEK-S offers a new-generation upgrade for applications where conventional PVDF tubular membranes face limitations under high temperatures, strong acids or alkalis, and intensive backwashing. PVDF performance varies by manufacturer, series, and construction, so actual comparison must use specific product data.
- 01
High-temperature development direction
Evaluate the tolerance and boundaries of the material and complete module at elevated temperature.
- 02
Strong-acid and strong-alkali development direction
Separate ambient and elevated-temperature conditions when observing test-stage tolerance across different pH environments.
- 03
Intensive-backwash development direction
Assess short-duration tolerance at higher backwash pressure without extrapolating it to long-term operating pressure.
DEVELOPMENT TEST SNAPSHOT
Four PEK-S test-stage observations
These values come from different R&D test conditions and indicate development progress. They are not formal product specifications and cannot be combined automatically into one continuous operating condition.
Compared only with Plum previous-generation module of the same outside diameter and length.
Highest tested tolerance value; not a long-term operating pressure.
Highest tested tolerance value; not a continuous-operation guarantee.
pH 0–13 @ 90°C Tolerance tests at different temperatures
Corresponding respectively to ambient-temperature and 90°C test conditions.
The individual test conditions cannot be combined automatically and do not establish long-term continuous operation, cleaning life, or project treatment performance. Final parameters require a formal product launch, archived evidence, and approved technical documentation.
HOW TO READ THE DATA
Read the test conditions before the number
R&D testing answers what was observed under a defined condition. Only future approved product documentation can define a continuous operating window.
- 4 bar backwash test
- Not equivalent to filtration operating pressure, mechanical pressure rating, or a long-term backwash setting.
- Tested up to 90°C
- Not a continuous operating-temperature guarantee and cannot be combined automatically with all chemical conditions.
- pH range
- Ambient-temperature and 90°C data must be interpreted separately. Chemical composition, concentration, and contact time must also be reviewed.
- +20% membrane area
- The comparison basis is only Plum previous-generation module of the same outside diameter and length; it is not a comparison with all products on the market.
PRODUCT RELATIONSHIP
Mature products serve current projects; PEK-S explores future boundaries
PEK-S does not invalidate PVDF or replace mature PEK. The three product routes are at different stages, so this page distinguishes products available for current engineering selection from technology still under development.
PVDF
For conventional tubular membrane duties where compatibility, temperature, and cleaning windows are suitable.
PEK
For high suspended solids, oily or highly fouling feeds, corrosive fluids, and intensive cleaning requirements.
PEK-S
Focused on high-temperature, strong-acid or strong-alkali, and intensive-backwash directions; not yet available for commercial project selection.
RELEASE GATES
Four gates from R&D evidence to a formal product
This page does not state a launch date. PEK-S can become a formal product only after testing, evidence, product definition, and public technical information have all been approved.
- 01R&D testing and repeat validation
Confirm key results, conditions, and repeatability.
- 02Evidence archiving and technical review
Create traceable records and approve the public disclosure boundary.
- 03Product definition and technical documentation
Freeze specifications, models, long-term operating boundaries, and application conditions.
- 04Formal launch and commercial selection
Commercial project selection begins only after a formal launch and approved product documentation.
TECHNICAL FAQ
PEK-S R&D preview frequently asked questions
Every answer is subject to the same status: PEK-S has not been commercially launched. Use mature PVDF and PEK routes for current project selection.
Can PEK-S be selected for a current commercial project?
No. PEK-S remains in R&D validation and has not been commercially launched. At this stage Plum accepts only technical-exchange registration for relevant duties.
Is finalized PEK-S product information available now?
No. Finalized product information becomes available only after technical approval and a formal commercial launch.
What do the four groups of values represent?
They are test-stage observations for membrane area, backwash pressure, temperature, and pH tolerance at different temperatures. Each value must be read with the stated comparison basis or test condition.
Can the 4 bar, 90°C, and pH values be combined into one duty?
No. The values come from different test conditions and do not establish simultaneous long-term operation at the highest temperature, widest pH range, and highest backwash pressure.
How should a current project select between PVDF and PEK?
Provide feed composition, flow, temperature, pH, contaminants, cleaning conditions, and the separation objective. Plum will screen the duty between mature PVDF and PEK products. PEK-S is not part of current commercial selection.
TECHNICAL EXCHANGE
Working with high temperature, strong acid or alkali, or intensive backwashing?
Submit the duty for PEK-S technical-exchange registration. Registration does not indicate commercial availability, a launch date, or a project-performance commitment.
