2,000 m³/d Aged Landfill Leachate Ammonia Stripping and Recovery Project

This 2,000 m³/d project treats aged landfill leachate through filtration, preheating, ammonia stripping, carbonation absorption and centrifugation. The route reduces the incoming ammonia load and links to ammonium-bicarbonate recovery.

Project overview

This 2,000 m³/d project treats aged landfill leachate through filtration, preheating, ammonia stripping, carbonation absorption and centrifugation. The route reduces the incoming ammonia load and links to ammonium-bicarbonate recovery.

Process route

Filtration and preheating → desorption and ammonia stripping → carbonation absorption → centrifugation and packaging

Process roles

Stripping transfers ammonia from the liquid to the gas phase. Downstream carbon-dioxide absorption and carbonation form the ammonia-recovery route. This full-scale project is recorded separately from the 400 m³/d validation unit.
