360 m³/h Chemical Plant Reclaimed-Water Reuse Retrofit

This 360 m³/h retrofit upgrades a chemical plant wastewater system for reclaimed-water reuse. Filtration, ultrafiltration, two-stage reverse osmosis and mixed-bed polishing are combined to supply the production-water system.

Project overview

This 360 m³/h retrofit upgrades a chemical plant wastewater system for reclaimed-water reuse. Filtration, ultrafiltration, two-stage reverse osmosis and mixed-bed polishing are combined to supply the production-water system.

Plum supplied the complete process systems described for this project.

Process route

Multimedia filtration → hollow-fiber ultrafiltration → two-stage reverse osmosis → mixed-bed polishing

Process roles

Multimedia filtration and hollow-fiber ultrafiltration control impurities upstream of desalination. Reverse osmosis removes dissolved salts, followed by mixed-bed polishing. The ultrafiltration stage uses hollow-fiber membranes.

The reverse-osmosis section follows Plum’s HRCC design concept.
